The project's scope encompassed the creation of a logo that embodies the creator's sense of humor, whilst seamlessly translating across diverse mediums including social media platforms and video content.
There are dark and light background variations, and each element was designed with future animation capabilities in mind.

Kevin started writing stories by posting them on a fan fiction community website. He enjoyed the process of writing and sharing his ideas so much that he decided to get into freelance writing.
He came to me to create a logo that is mysterious and alluring, with occult or metaphysical elements. Later, we added a social media graphic, a short-form video to tease new stories, and a business card to hand out at meetings or events.

Last Donut Productions is a multimedia design company that specializes in photography and videography.
The logo was created in a light and dark version for use on different solid backgrounds or for overlay/watermarking on media. It is meant to have a slightly vintage or classic feel, similar to old advertising badges or mechanic garages. It conveys the aesthetic of the production team, and looks good sized up for video as well as scaled down for small pins and stickers.

For this project, I chose to analyze the cosmetics brand Rare Beauty and determine where I could improve upon their existing multimedia. I chose two digital pieces, both on the @rarebeauty Instagram account, and one print piece - a thank you card to include in all shipped online orders.
Story Highlight Covers: In their current state, the highlight covers are a combination of solid color fills, product photos, and small text. It feels cluttered and the viewer's eye doesn't know where to look. I chose to refresh these covers and give the Instagram profile a more cohesive feel that much better suits their aesthetic. I sketched out several options, playing with things like color, contrast, text, and icons.
Ultimately, I decided to alternate the brand colors that already exist to keep the playful feel, but added consistency with icons to represent what each story highlight is about. These covers communicate a more refined, organized feel.
Puzzle Poster Grid: Rare Beauty posts frequently, and features all kinds of content. Unfortunately, the posts don't follow one color scheme, editing style, or format. For a viewer scrolling through their feed, it would be easy to move right past the post without even knowing it's from the brand's account.
I sketched out several options to make a more consistent look while still letting each post shine. For this specific campagin, I chose a puzzle poster grid that allows each post stand on its own and make sense, but once the entire set of images has posted, they form a larger piece of art.
This method is aesthetically pleasing and inspires the viewers to go back and review the individual posts and whole poster multiple times to see what else they catch.
Thank You Card: Most brands send a simple packing list with their orders, and include nothing to let their customers get to know them. I've opted to create a card that can pull the customer's first name and be printed to include with each order.
To design the card, I gathered inspiration from existing thank you cards that you may send a friend. I landed on a card that was light and airy. It thanks the customer by name, evoking a warm, friendly feeling. The text educates the customer on the brand's vision and mission, and invites them to learn more and follow on social.
The card's function could even been expanded by having the other side be beautiful product and application photography that the customer could collect as pieces of art for their home.
